Senior Business Consultant

Perficient•Town and Country, MO
•$90,000 - $120,000

About The Position

Perficient is hiring a Senior Business Consultant for its Salesforce practice, which delivers work in small, AI-first teams. The consultant owns requirements and delivery workstreams, builds declaratively to approved designs and standards, tests submitted work, and is accountable for reviewing and correcting AI-generated deliverables. An architect leads client engagements, while the consultant may own requirements outright on smaller engagements. The role includes documenting business processes by persona and translating them into testable user stories and acceptance criteria; reviewing AI-drafted work against requirements; building Salesforce configuration through repository-based tooling; writing and running tests; facilitating UAT and obtaining stakeholder sign-off; verifying end-user documentation against the actual configuration; and leading demos, training, adoption, and hypercare. Marketing Cloud duties include administering the creation of a new instance and implementing integrations with the broader Salesforce ecosystem. The consultant uses AI to draft and support delivery artifacts and configuration, then critically reviews and corrects generated work before approval. The role requires fluency with the AI tools used by the engagement, which may include Claude, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, platform assistants, or a client’s tools. Perficient describes its culture as collaborative and inclusive, and offers full-time employees competitive compensation and benefits, paid time off, holidays, and eligibility for rewards and recognition programs, including billable bonus opportunities.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience, including client-facing consulting.
  • Salesforce delivery experience on client engagements, including requirements and declarative build.
  • Experience facilitating UAT or business workshops.
  • Marketing Cloud certification, including Email Specialist, Marketing Cloud Developer, or Marketing Cloud Consultant.
  • Demonstrated current use of AI tools in delivery work.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to map business processes, identify gaps, and configure the platform to address them.
  • Ability to lead workshops, demonstrations, and UAT sessions credibly with process owners.
  • Ability to critically review and correct AI-generated delivery work.
  • Ability to learn quickly and become productive across disciplines or clouds.

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce Platform Administrator certification.
  • Salesforce Business Analyst certification.
  • Consultant-level certification in a primary cloud.
  • Experience leading requirements conversations with client stakeholders.
  • Experience using AMPscript in Marketing Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Document business processes by persona and translate them into user stories with testable acceptance criteria.
  • Review and correct AI-drafted stories against the PRD and ensure they are buildable without interpretation.
  • Build declarative Salesforce configuration to the design and standards, including automation, templates, and permission sets, committed to the repository.
  • Write and run test scripts and identify stories whose acceptance criteria are not testable.
  • Facilitate UAT with business stakeholders and drive written sign-off among multiple parties.
  • Verify AI-generated end-user documentation against actual configuration, screen by screen, before it is shared with users.
  • Lead demonstrations and deliver training, and support adoption through hypercare.
  • Raise discoveries that fall outside the backlog rather than absorbing them into existing work.
  • Administer the creation of a new Marketing Cloud instance.
  • Understand and implement integrations between Marketing Cloud and the broader Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Use AI to draft stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation, test scripts, and training material, then correct those deliverables against business input.
  • Build configuration through agentic tooling against the repository rather than manually in an org.
  • Critically review generated work and explain changes or corrections made before approving it.
  • Work with the AI tools used by the engagement, such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, platform assistants, or a client's own tools.
  • Lead requirements conversations, workshops, demos, and UAT sessions with client stakeholders as needed.
