About The Position

The SAP Senior Business Analyst – FICO is responsible for analyzing, designing, testing, and implementing solutions using SAP FICO and Controlling (CO) modules in a global manufacturing and distribution environment. With a focus on product costing, standard cost management, and cost accuracy across manufacturing operations, this role works closely with business users, Finance, Operations leadership, and external consultants to understand requirements, identify gaps, and propose best practices that drive financial accuracy and operational efficiency. This role also provides configuration support, end-user training, and documentation for SAP FICO, CO, and related modules and applications, while collaborating with the Development and Integration team on cross-system functional requirements.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 5 to 7 years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a global instance of SAP ECC 6.0 or higher with hands-on configuration, new enhancements, and break-fix support for SAP FI and CO modules in a manufacturing environment; participation in at least one full lifecycle SAP implementation required.
  • Work experience in a global manufacturing or distribution company required
  • Proficiency in FI modules: General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), Tax Accounting (including withholding tax), and FI-MM integration.
  • Proficiency in CO modules: Product Costing (CO-PC), Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), standard cost configuration, variance analysis, and production order settlement.
  • Understanding of CO-PC integration with Production Planning (PP) and Materials Management (MM) required.
  • Analytical ability to work with complex processes, perform root cause analysis to identify, diagnose, find opportunities and solve problems.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and business information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Perform analysis to ensure system functionality is performing satisfactorily and business requirements have been met.
  • Ability to work in a Microsoft environment, to work with your department’s business applications and with standard current computer applications.

Nice To Haves

  • S/4HANA experience and familiarity with how SAP FI/CO connects with other enterprise systems are a plus.
  • Project management experience and knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools preferred.
  • Experience with Material Ledger and actual costing in a multi-currency global environment is a plus.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities within SAP, such as entity migrations, chart of accounts harmonization, system cutovers, and financial data consolidation, is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of SAP FICO and CO project deliverables including blueprints, functional and technical specifications, system configuration, testing, training, and go-live support, with emphasis on product costing, standard cost solutions, and manufacturing cost flows.
  • Understand SAP’s master data integrity, information flow processes, and architecture structure.
  • Communicate and record project, task, and time usage and status appropriately.
  • Develop documentation that supports change control and enables training and change management activities.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting, system audits, and analysis as required.
  • Provide business system analysis and process redesign expertise within business functions to translate business requirements into system solutions.
  • Perform SAP FICO and CO configuration as required to support functional requirements based on System Enhancement Requests and projects; coordinate with the Development and Integration team on cross-system functional requirements to ensure data integrity and financial accuracy.
  • Own and maintain standard cost configuration in SAP CO-PC, including cost component structures, costing variants, costing runs, and price updates; support variance analysis and production order settlement back to FI; partner with Finance, Manufacturing Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure product cost accuracy across a global manufacturing environment, including the integration of CO-PC with Production Planning (PP) and Materials Management (MM).
  • Identify areas for improvement that support the goals and objectives of the company’s Strategic Plans.
  • Provide guidance in working with cross-functional global teams to improve systems and processes, productivity, drive savings or revenue initiatives, and reduce waste.
  • Conduct interviews, gather information, and collaborate with end users to understand (and document when necessary) current business processes and activities.
  • Utilize and promote continuous improvement concepts and tools.
  • Test systems and processes prior to rollouts or integrations including outlining test requirements, such as regression and negative testing, across a global SAP landscape.
  • Work with other Enterprise Solutions team members and project teams on implementation strategies that impact the end-user in a non-disruptive approach.
  • Manage and provide end-user support of existing business solutions, coach, and lead knowledge exchange to promote shared information and success.
