Senior Backend Engineer, Decision Science

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Experimentation Product team. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and developing fast, reliable, and scalable data processing tools to handle the vast amount of data from our global customer base. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of delivering value to customers and a commitment to producing high-quality work. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our data platform, designing data pipelines, collaborating with the product team, and continuously improving data pipeline performance. • Working with a modern data stack and open source frameworks
• Building and expanding the data platform, pipeline, and services
• Designing data pipelines for new products and evolving customer needs
• Collaborating with the product team to influence and deliver user-facing features
• Monitoring and improving data pipeline performance for continuous improvement
• Championing engineering standards, tooling, and processes
• Having proven experience and fluency in a JVM language or Golang
• Building data platforms using Flink, Kafka, DataFlow, Hadoop, Spark
• Working with data pipelines, distributed systems, and large-scale data processing

• Holding oneself and others to a high bar when working with data systems
• Valuing high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices
• Having experience with AWS
• Having experience with experimentation systems/products
• Having a working knowledge of ETL and a query language
