Backend Engineer, Core

As a Backend Engineer at LaunchDarkly, you will play a crucial role in building and enhancing features, designing and implementing API methods, and ensuring the performance and reliability of our systems. With our platform serving over twenty trillion feature flags daily, you will have the opportunity to work with core technologies such as Golang, Redis, and NATS. In addition to your development responsibilities, you may also be involved in supporting applications in production, including on-call duties. • Build and expand feature flagging products and APIs written in go for the Core product line
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to deliver user-facing features
• Monitor and improve server-side performance
• Write unit, integration, and load tests as necessary
• Actively participate in code reviews
• Write and review technical proposals
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

• Experience with server-side web development in Java/Scala, Ruby, Python, Golang, or Node.js
• Experience building RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with computer science fundamentals such as data structures, distributed systems, concurrency, and threading
• A commitment to working in a communicative and collaborative environment
• Ability to write code that can be easily understood by others, with an eye towards maintainability
• High bar for working with production systems
