Senior Associate, Workplace Platforms

Perform Properties•Santa Monica, CA

About The Position

Perform Properties is hiring a hands-on Senior Associate to own and improve the Microsoft 365 workplace platforms used across the business. The role will design a SharePoint intranet and an integrated experience across SharePoint, Teams, Viva Engage, Loop, OneNote, Planner, To Do, and Power Platform. This includes creating clear information architecture, hubs, navigation, metadata, and role-relevant experiences in partnership with Communications and Marketing. The position will also guide adoption of Teams and Viva Engage for daily work and conversation, and determine where Copilot, agents, and Power Platform automations can improve work within Microsoft 365. This is a design-and-build role rather than a help desk or standards-only position. The Senior Associate defines requirements, makes the case for changes, and follows them through implementation and verification with Revantage North America and other build partners. The role owns governance and standards, reviews technical output and configuration changes, documents architecture decisions, and uses structured root cause analysis to diagnose failed implementations. It also pilots new capabilities, drives adoption, and contributes to the wider work of Technology Enablement. The position reports to the Director, Technology Enablement, has no direct reports, and is the most senior individual-contributor tier on a five-person, hands-on team. Core business hours are in the employee's time zone, with deliberate overlap across East and West coasts. Some planned change windows, migrations, and office moves may take place in the evening or on weekends; this is not an on-call role. Travel is up to 25%, primarily within the employee's region and occasionally at short notice.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of hands-on Microsoft 365 experience beyond end-user support, including ownership of SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams in a business of comparable or greater complexity.
  • Deep SharePoint Online expertise in information architecture, permissions, modern site and hub design, templates, and governance.
  • Microsoft Teams architecture experience, including channel and lifecycle standards for a distributed workforce.
  • A track record of driving change when execution rights sit with a managed partner or shared service.
  • Established process maturity, including root cause analysis, post-implementation review, and structured troubleshooting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and sound judgment in raising the quality standard of team output.
  • Working knowledge of Entra ID, Exchange Online, and Microsoft 365 administration, including understanding which changes require tenant-level rights.
  • Practical judgment about Copilot and AI tooling, including assessing usefulness and readiness.
  • Comfort owning standards for workplace tools beyond Microsoft, including Adobe, browsers, and endpoint software.
  • Governance and adoption experience covering rollout planning, testing, training, and measurement.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft certifications such as MS-102 Microsoft 365 Administrator, SC-300 Identity and Access Administrator, or SharePoint and Teams administrator credentials.
  • Power Platform capability.
  • Experience delivering intranets and information architecture at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Architect SharePoint information architecture, site and hub structure, permissions models, templates, and lifecycle.
  • Design Microsoft Teams structure and usage, including team and channel architecture, naming and lifecycle standards, and communities for a nationally distributed workforce.
  • Grow adoption across Viva Engage, Loop, OneNote, Planner, To Do, and Power Platform.
  • Assess Microsoft Copilot and other platform AI capabilities and recommend where they should be used.
  • Pilot new and upcoming capabilities, test them before broader release, and decide whether to adopt, defer, or decline them.
  • Own workplace-platform governance, including site and team creation, ownership and lifecycle, permissions, external sharing, and retention.
  • Set workplace application standards for tools outside the collaboration platforms, including Adobe, browsers, and endpoint software.
  • Drive changes through Revantage North America, which holds tenant access, by owning the design, business case, and follow-through through implementation and verification.
  • Maintain a written responsibility charter defining work performed directly versus work requested through the managed partner, including named counterparts and expected turnaround.
  • Raise security and compliance changes through the managed partner, describing the control, business impact, and compliant alternative.
  • Set requirements for build partners, represent Perform's needs with technical credibility, and escalate stalled requests.
  • Partner with Communications and the intranet workstream so architecture and the published experience are designed together.
  • Diagnose failed implementations using structured root cause analysis and provide findings and corrective actions.
  • Set and maintain standards for content and configurations published on the platforms.
  • Review the team's technical output and configuration changes before they reach the business.
  • Document architecture decisions and their rationale.
  • Drive adoption of new capabilities across the company.
  • Maintain a shared view across workplace platforms and integrations with the Senior Associate, Workplace Integrations.
  • Develop the team's technical depth through pairing, walkthroughs, and Technology Office Hours.
  • Remain hands-on and assist with support and equipment needs when needed.
  • Contribute to broader Technology Enablement goals, including work not yet described.
