The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low- and middle-income countries. CHAI works with governments and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems. Founded in 2002 to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic by reducing drug prices and increasing access to medicines, CHAI has expanded its focus to include infectious diseases like COVID-19, malaria, tuberculosis, and hepatitis, as well as non-communicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and hypertension. The organization also works to accelerate vaccine rollouts, reduce maternal and child mortality, combat chronic malnutrition, and increase access to assistive technology. CHAI invests in horizontal approaches to strengthen health systems through programs in human resources for health, digital health, and health financing, with a strategy focused on sustainable impact at scale, government leadership, national scalability, and global knowledge sharing. CHAI values diversity and inclusion, recognizing that its mission is best advanced by a diverse team. As a member of the team supporting CHAI's CEO, this role will help build a new, lean business development and partnerships function. This function will power the CEO's donor engagement and CHAI's most strategic funding relationships. Working closely with the Chief of Staff to the CEO, the role will support the resourcing of programs with transformational impact, such as ending HIV in Africa and building AI-native health systems, across a diverse portfolio of donors and prospects. This is a practical, execution-focused role requiring independence, the ability to right-size effort, and quick movement. The individual will research and map CHAI's priority funders, identify prospects, build pitch decks, proposals, and investment cases, prepare the CEO and senior leadership for donor meetings, and establish the tools and coordination for the function. A key aspect of the role involves building and maintaining AI-powered tools, including a custom donor CRM, to accelerate prospecting, enrich donor profiles, and surface relationship insights. This is a unique opportunity to help establish a new function from the ground up, work directly with senior leadership, and contribute to the resourcing of ambitious global health initiatives.
