Senior Analytics Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Data & Analytics Engineering team at Algolia. In this role, you will be responsible for building data models and driving adoption of well-governed data models among business analysts. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop data visualizations, while also maintaining high data quality in the data models. The ideal candidate will have experience in SQL, designing and building data models in dbt, and managing data visualization tools.

• Building data models with dbt to be used by Analysts on business reports and analyses
• Coordinating with the Salesforce team and the Data Engineering team to enhance business-ready datasets
• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop data visualizations
• Driving adoption of well-governed data models among business analysts
• Maintaining high data quality in the data models

• 4+ years of experience in SQL (Redshift /Postgres preferred)
• 2+ years of experience designing and building data models in dbt
• Experience defining data quality tests and writing documentation in dbt
• 2+ years of experience with managing data visualization tools (i.e. Thoughtspot, Looker, Tableau, etc.)
• 1+ year in working in an Agile Team
• Interest in deeply understanding the data and business requirements
• Experience with balancing team roadmaps and inbound requests
• Excellent spoken and written English skills
• Familiarity with data catalogs (i.e, Atlan, Alation, etc.) (nice to have)
• Familiarity with orchestration workflows like Airflow (nice to have)
• Familiarity with Reverse ETL tools like Census (nice to have)
• dbt Analytics Engineering Certification (nice to have)
