The Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS), the public defender agency for Massachusetts, is establishing a new Transition Age Youth Office within the Children and Family Law Division. This office, part of the Family Justice Advocates "conflicts office," will focus on improving representation and advocacy for young adults and transition-age youth navigating the family regulation system. The administrative assistant will be a crucial part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to this mission. Initially, the office will operate remotely until office space is secured, with a potential location in Framingham or other Metro West or Greater Boston areas. CPCS is committed to fighting for equal justice and human dignity by supporting clients in achieving their legal and life goals through zealous advocacy and promoting just public policy. The agency values Courage, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence. CPCS is dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion, aiming to ensure its staff reflects a broad range of human differences and experiences, fosters a respectful and supportive work climate, and promotes the dignity and well-being of all staff members. The Transition Age Youth Office specifically provides multidisciplinary support for transition-age youth across the state, addressing their complex needs through case support, training, and limited direct client representation. The office will consist of an Attorney in Charge, trial attorneys, a social worker, a peer support specialist, and an administrative assistant. The Administrative Assistant will report to the Attorney in Charge and play a key role in the day-to-day operations of this fast-paced legal office, coordinating communications and support with various CPCS units.
