About The Position

Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida is seeking a Self-Pay Patient Account Representative to join its Administration team in Fort Myers. The role handles patient and insurance-company calls and correspondence related to self-pay accounts, resolves questions and concerns promptly, and pursues delinquent accounts in accordance with written policies and procedures. The representative also provides customer service to internal and external customers, recommends accounts for write-off or collection, monitors work status and productivity against MGMA standards, and maintains strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

Requirements

• Two years of experience working in a high-volume medical office environment.
• Great attention to detail and data-entry accuracy.
• Ability to handle all interactions in a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic manner.
• Excellent professional customer-service skills.
• Knowledge of methods and procedures of health data systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Handle calls and correspondence from patients and insurance companies regarding self-pay accounts, resolving questions or concerns promptly.
• Identify delinquent accounts daily and pursue them according to written policies and procedures.
• Recommend patient accounts for write-off or referral to collections.
• Monitor work status and maintain productivity within MGMA standards for Patient Account Representatives.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
