About The Position

Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida is seeking a Self-Pay Patient Account Representative for its Administration team in Fort Myers. The role provides customer service to internal and external customers and handles calls and correspondence from patients and insurance companies regarding self-pay accounts. The representative resolves questions and concerns promptly, identifies delinquent accounts, pursues them according to written policies and procedures, and recommends accounts for write-off or collection. The role also monitors work status and productivity against MGMA standards, while maintaining confidentiality and following HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

Requirements

• Two years of experience working in a high-volume medical office environment.
• Great attention to detail and data-entry accuracy.
• Ability to handle all interactions in a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic manner.
• Excellent and professional customer service skills.
• Knowledge of methods and procedures of health data systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Handle calls and correspondence from patients and insurance companies regarding self-pay accounts.
• Promptly resolve questions or concerns.
• Identify delinquent accounts daily and pursue them according to written policies and procedures.
• Recommend patient accounts for write-off or referral to collections.
• Monitor work status and maintain productivity within MGMA standards for Patient Account Representatives.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
