About The Position

The Patient Account Representative manages delinquent patient accounts by prioritizing them according to age and dollar amount, conducting collection activities, and contacting patients and third-party payors. The role reviews Explanation of Benefits for appropriate payment, submits supporting medical records and claims, responds to patient account questions, resolves billing complaints, and prepares reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of collection experience in the medical field.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize delinquent accounts by age and dollar amount.
• Perform collection activities.
• Contact patients and resubmit claims to third-party payors.
• Submit copies of office notes and operative reports.
• Review third-party Explanation of Benefits for appropriate payment.
• Answer patient questions and inquiries regarding their accounts.
• Identify and resolve patient billing complaints.
• Compile information and prepare reports.
