About The Position

The Self-Direction Quality Assurance Coordinator will conduct, document, summarize, and present internal reviews, adhering to the mission of the agency. This role works towards the common goal of promoting independence and improving self-directed services for all people served by AIM. The position ensures a person-centered approach as it applies to all facets of quality and compliance. The role also involves collaborating with the Director of Independent Services and the Compliance Officer on Self-Direction Quality and Compliance, routinely completing and presenting self-direction quality assurance internal reviews and compliance reviews. The coordinator will maintain knowledge of regulations and assist with ensuring agency compliance, while adhering to the mission of the agency. They will accurately interpret policies, procedures, and regulations as applicable and apply them in accordance with person-centered philosophies, and assist in acquiring required documentation. Other duties include special projects, attending professional meetings and trainings, and committee membership as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience working with people with ID/DD.
  • 1 year of Self-Direction experience required.
  • Knowledge of New York State and OPWDD regulations including NYCRR 14 Part 624, 625, & 633 The Justice Center, and quality assurance and compliance practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate both critical thinking skills and reliability in decision-making.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed team skills, unquestioned integrity, and the experience, confidence and presence to effectively handle sensitive issues.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License acceptable to Agency Insurance standards. Maintain valid insurance and provide insurance card if you use your own vehicle.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, IRMA, Therap, and eVero.
  • Sitting and/or computer use for an extended period of time.
  • Demonstrated interest and ability to facilitate the desired outcomes of the individuals served, while adhering to agency standards and policies, as well as state regulations.
  • Maintain training and certification in all required areas.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful or demanding situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • BA/BS preferred.
  • 3 years of Self-Direction experience preferred.
