About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for parking lot patrol in Long Beach, California. The role provides a consistent assigned weekly shift, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. The designated site and weekly shift require a six-month commitment. Additional shifts may allow hours to vary, potentially reaching a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back.

The listed pay rate is $20.00 per hour. The scheduled shift is Saturday, 12:00 PM–6:00 PM. The officer will conduct unarmed patrols, monitor for unusual activity and hazards, respond to incidents, assist with access control and directions, and provide professional customer service. Applicants need at least two years of security-related experience, a valid driver’s license, and a high school diploma or equivalent. A background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen are conditions of employment; licensing may also be required under applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license, in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements; required for driving positions only.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required prior to employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.

• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors while carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies, and assist with emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas, as assigned.
• Monitor for unusual activity, policy concerns, and potential hazards, and report observations to site leadership or appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and in a problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Assist with access control and customer and visitor directions, while maintaining a professional presence that helps deter unauthorized activity.
