Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol Observer
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Patrol Observer to serve and safeguard clients at a retail and mall location in Syracuse, New York. The role involves monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and providing customer service to visitors and tenants. Officers communicate professionally, respond to concerns, and help maintain a welcoming environment. The position is part time and pays $20.75 per hour. The listed schedule is Thursday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the retail location, including common areas, parking areas, exterior perimeters, and tenant corridors.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established site procedures.
- Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and potential hazards, and report observations to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with access control, provide customer directions, and communicate with mall management, tenants, and emergency responders as needed.
