About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Unarmed Patrol in Santa Barbara, California, to support a utilities location. The officer will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor access points, and respond to security-related concerns. The role emphasizes outstanding customer service, clear communication, and working with a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that acts with integrity. The position pays $21.25 per hour and is scheduled Thursday and Friday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

A guard card or license is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Carry out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate at a utility location.
Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, operational areas, parking areas, perimeter boundaries, and other assigned locations.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized activity or unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal requirements.
