Security Officer Unarmed Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol in Nanuet, NY, you will safeguard clients and school property by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and helping deter security-related incidents. You will observe and report concerns, provide courteous assistance, and communicate clearly to support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role also involves following site-specific security procedures and policies, responding to incidents and emergencies when appropriate, and conducting regular and random patrols of the business and perimeter. Work environments and conditions may vary by client site.
Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and performing emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter.
- Monitor and patrol school property, maintain a visible presence, observe and report concerns, and assist students, staff, and visitors.
