About The Position

As a full-time unarmed Security Officer in a healthcare setting in Durham, North Carolina, you will serve and safeguard clients while helping maintain a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, provide customer service, and communicate professionally. The role includes routine reporting and responding to incidents and emergencies in accordance with established site protocols. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The pay rate is $20.46 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations, following established site protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction and access control procedures.
Report unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
Accurately document incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
