About The Position

The Security Officer maintains a safe and secure environment at Hillcrest Hospital South by patrolling the premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, and enforcing security policies. The role helps prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access while ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, staff, equipment, supplies, facilities, and hospital content.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid CLEET Armed Security Officer certification.
Valid driver’s license.
Obtain IAHSS Basic level within 6 months of hire.
Obtain BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
Obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
Maintain annual firearm and handcuffing certification.
OC gel spray certification.

Nice To Haves

1 year of security experience.
Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with patients, visitors, staff, contractors, governmental agencies, and vendors.
Ability to confront adverse and potentially hostile situations and resolve them tactfully and safely.
Skill and ability to make quick decisions and apply safety and security knowledge in emergencies.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
