About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer at an educational location in New York, NY. The officer will help safeguard the campus, maintain a visible security presence, and support a welcoming environment while communicating professionally with students, staff, and visitors. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, grounds, entrances, and perimeter locations, identifying and reporting unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and visitor activity according to campus procedures, providing directions and assistance as appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, notifying appropriate campus contacts and emergency personnel as needed.
Document patrol activities, incidents, and security-related concerns through clear and timely reports.
