About The Position

As a full-time unarmed Security Officer at an educational location in Paterson, New Jersey, you will help safeguard the campus and support a welcoming environment. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and families, and respond professionally to security concerns. The role is scheduled Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at a pay rate of $17.98 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and families by following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, student-related concerns, and critical situations, following established reporting and notification procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site procedures, directing individuals to appropriate school personnel when needed.
Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to school representatives and Allied Universal leadership.
