About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed Security Officer for a front desk role at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Charlottesville, Virginia. The officer will welcome visitors, manage access, monitor entry activity, and deliver customer service while serving as a visible, professional presence and supporting security operations. The position pays $22.00 per hour and is scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.
CPR certification.
Access-control and badge experience.
Customer service experience.
Loss prevention experience.

Responsibilities

Provide front-desk customer service by following site-specific procedures and security protocols.
Greet, screen, and direct visitors, employees, contractors, and delivery personnel according to access-control requirements.
Monitor visitor activity, maintain accurate visitor records, and issue temporary credentials as authorized by site procedures.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, and promptly notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
Answer phones, handle inquiries, and communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership about security-related concerns.
