Security Officer Part Time Afternoons
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Patrol Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location in East Dubuque, Illinois. The officer will safeguard the client site by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, monitoring assigned areas, and communicating professionally with employees and visitors. The role calls for a customer-focused approach and teamwork, integrity, and reliability. The schedule is Monday and Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $20.50 per hour. Employees can use the Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements; a license may be required before employment.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, access points, production areas, storage locations, parking areas, and perimeter grounds to identify unusual conditions and deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor entry and exit activity, verify visitor and contractor authorization according to site procedures, and maintain required logs and documentation.
- Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts or emergency responders according to established procedures.
- Promptly report hazards, equipment concerns, policy violations, and other security-related observations through required communication channels.
