About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer for a logistics and distribution location in Roanoke, Virginia. The officer will help safeguard clients and maintain a visible security presence through facility patrols, access monitoring, customer service, and incident response. The role is scheduled Monday through Wednesday, 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM, at $16.20 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
A guard card or license.
Access control or badge experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility and warehouse areas, loading docks, parking areas, trailer yards, and the perimeter.
Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for personnel, visitors, vendors, and delivery drivers according to site procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and complete required reports.
Observe and report unusual conditions, damaged property, access-control concerns, and other security-related issues to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
Use technology to document observations.
