About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for a chemical/petrochemical site in Wilmington, Illinois. The officer will help safeguard the client by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and providing customer service to employees and visitors. The role includes carrying out site-specific security procedures and, when appropriate, emergency response activities, while reporting observations and responding calmly to incidents and critical situations. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The pay rate is $22.45 per hour. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver's license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
Perform emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and its perimeter.
Maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents.
Communicate professionally with employees and visitors and report observations.
