About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer at a shelter location in Wilmington, North Carolina. The officer will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide compassionate customer service to residents, visitors, and staff. The role involves communicating clearly, documenting observations, and helping maintain a welcoming environment through teamwork and integrity. The position pays $16.40 per hour. The scheduled shifts are Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Additional shifts may be viewed and claimed through the company’s Claim a Shift platform.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by following site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Monitor access to the shelter location, observe visitor activity, and report unusual conditions or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly and respectfully to incidents and critical situations, including situations involving individuals experiencing crisis or distress.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the building, grounds, entrances, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Accurately document incidents, observations, and patrol activity, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
