About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for visitor reception at a financial institution in Wilmington, Delaware. The officer serves as a welcoming, professional presence while monitoring access, assisting visitors, communicating with staff and guests, observing activity, reporting concerns, and helping maintain a secure environment. The role calls for exceptional customer service and adherence to site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and security policies.

The schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, if required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service at the financial institution’s front desk while following site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and security policies.
• Greet, screen, and direct employees, visitors, contractors, and deliveries; maintain visitor logs and issue appropriate credentials.
• Monitor entry points, alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems from the front desk, and report unusual activity or access concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations; contact appropriate personnel and emergency responders when needed.
• Maintain a professional lobby environment, answer questions, communicate with building stakeholders, and help deter unauthorized access.
