About The Position

KRE Security is hiring a permanent part-time Afterschool Security Officer in the Lehigh Valley area, based in Macungie, Pennsylvania. The position follows the academic school calendar and is scheduled Wednesday through Friday from 2:45 PM to 6:45 PM, with possible additional Saturday coverage when requested by the client. The officer helps maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming school environment for students, families, staff, and visitors. Work may vary according to school activities and events and may require outdoor patrols in inclement weather.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age, as required by the contractual agreement with the client.
• Be dependable and punctual.
• Be professional, approachable, and respectful.
• Be comfortable interacting with students, families, staff, and visitors.
• Be alert and detail-oriented.
• Be comfortable working independently.
• Be able to conduct interior and exterior patrols.
• Be willing to work outside when required, including in inclement weather.
• Communicate clearly and professionally.
• Be comfortable following school security procedures and client requirements.
• Be willing to complete all required background checks and clearances.
• Complete training mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for School Security Officers.
• Maintain all required certifications and training throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

• Security, education, customer service, military, law enforcement, or other public-facing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interior and exterior patrols according to the school's daily event and activity schedule.
• Maintain a visible and professional security presence.
• Monitor entrances, exits, hallways, common areas, and designated exterior areas.
• Help maintain a safe environment during afterschool activities and events.
• Interact professionally and respectfully with students, families, staff, and visitors.
• Observe and report unusual or potentially unsafe activity.
• Respond appropriately to security or safety concerns.
• Follow site-specific post orders, procedures, and client requirements.
• Complete required activity logs and reports.
• Work outdoors when required, including during inclement weather.
• Provide additional Saturday coverage when requested by the client.
