About The Position

As an Unarmed Security Officer at a university campus in Clearwater, Florida, you will help safeguard students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus property while supporting a welcoming environment. You will maintain a visible presence, monitor and patrol assigned areas, provide customer service, assist with access control and visitor guidance, and respond professionally to incidents in accordance with campus protocols. You will document activities and incidents using computer or tablet tools. This is a part-time position paying $18.22 per hour, with scheduled shifts Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11:59 PM to 8:00 AM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in accordance with established campus protocols.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
Report hazards, maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate personnel, and accurately document incidents.
Assist with access control, visitor guidance, directions, and other assigned campus support functions.
