Campus Security Officer
About The Position
Provides personal, equipment, and real property security for faculty, staff, students, and visitors within an assigned area of the University campus. Provides escort services and other basic public assistance as needed, and performs routine security and public safety patrol duties within the assigned area. Remains alert to emergency situations and provides first-line response, emergency management, and/or referral when required. This is a regular, full-time, benefits-eligible staff position with the University of New Mexico Police Department in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The position is non-exempt and pays $18.60 per hour. All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; no previous experience is required.
- A valid New Mexico driver's license is required.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
- Employees providing services or working in patient care or clinical areas must comply with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
