Security Officer Full Time Patrol Deterrence
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Unarmed Patrol Officer at an educational location in New York, NY. The officer will safeguard students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents, responding to security concerns, and providing customer service. The role involves following site-specific procedures and policies, responding to emergencies, monitoring access points, reporting concerns, and completing required documentation. The posted pay range is $20.40–$21.40 per hour. The schedule is 8:00 AM–4:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- Have a valid driver’s license if assigned to a driving position.

- CPR certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while following site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify campus personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, and perimeter locations.
- Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, facility issues, and policy violations according to established procedures.
- Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation while maintaining a professional presence.
