About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced for a roving patrol role at an assigned logistics and distribution location in Schenectady, New York. The position provides a fixed weekly schedule of Tuesday and Wednesday, 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a six-month commitment to the designated site and shifts. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform, with the possibility of working up to 40 hours per week and scaling back as needed.

The role involves providing customer service while carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies, conducting foot and/or vehicle patrols, monitoring property access, responding to incidents and alarms, and documenting and communicating security-related activity. The hourly pay rate is $19.51.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if the position involves driving.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and/or employees while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of loading areas, trailer yards, parking lots, access points, and perimeter areas to identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, or facility concerns.
• Monitor access to the property by observing entry and exit activity, verifying visitor and vendor authorization as directed, and reporting access concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following site procedures and documenting observations and actions taken.
• Complete activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs, and communicate relevant security information to incoming personnel and appropriate site representatives.
