Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Access Control
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota, serving an educational setting. The officer will monitor and patrol assigned campus areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The role is scheduled for daytime shifts on Saturday and Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and pays $21.50 per hour. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. State or local licensing may be required before employment. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful background investigation, as a condition of employment.
- Drug screening, to the extent permitted by law, as a condition of employment.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements if required for employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while following security procedures and site-specific policies and carrying out emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate campus contacts or emergency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
- Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, policy violations, and other security-related issues according to site procedures.
- Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
