About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer for an assigned Specialty Discount Market site. The position is part-time and offers a fixed weekly anchor shift, with a six-month commitment to the designated site and shift. The scheduled shift is Monday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Officers may also claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and adjust their hours as needed. The role pays $20.00 per hour.

The officer provides customer service and performs security-related duties at the site, including monitoring access, patrolling the facility and surrounding areas, responding to incidents, and documenting security activity. Applicants must have a New York State Security Guard License, at least one year of security-related experience, be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to applicable background and drug screening.

Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years old.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, consistent with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while following site-specific procedures and security policies.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following emergency response procedures when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, parking areas, loading and receiving areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for personnel, visitors, vendors, and deliveries in accordance with site policies.
• Accurately and promptly document observations, incidents, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
