Security Officer - Food Distribution Market
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Food Distribution Market, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. In this part-time role, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas at a technology, media, and telecommunications location, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment. You will provide customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and staff, and respond professionally to security-related concerns. The position is scheduled Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and pays $20.00 per hour. Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require age 21 or older.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities.
- Maintain a professional presence that helps deter unwanted activity.
