About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for a retail location in Brooklyn, New York. The officer will safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, supporting access control, and providing customer service and communication. The role is scheduled for daytime shifts Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The position pays $18.48–$19.48 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements depend on applicable state and local laws and may need to be met before employment.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for an unarmed role.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
- Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Nice To Haves
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to customers, team members, and visitors while following security procedures and site-specific policies, and carrying out emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, using problem-solving skills.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of sales areas, entrances, exits, receiving areas, parking areas, and the perimeter.
- Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and potential hazards, and report observations to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
- Assist with access control and visitor interactions.
- Document incidents and daily activities according to site procedures.
