Security Officer - Patrols

About The Position

As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location in Bloomington, Illinois, you will safeguard clients by monitoring assigned areas, conducting routine armed patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and providing customer service and communication. You will support a professional environment through teamwork, integrity, and a caring approach while representing Allied Universal’s values. This is a part-time position paying $23.38 per hour. The schedule is Friday and Saturday, 12:30 AM–8:30 AM.

Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience.
An Armed Guard Card or License.
At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Participation in industry-specific security training programs.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation and drug screen, as permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply prior to employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.
A valid firearms permit.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, remaining aware of visitor, employee, and vehicle activity in accordance with site requirements.
Prepare accurate incident reports, maintain required activity logs, and communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
