Security Officer Part Time Food Market Patrols
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control Patrol for an assigned retail location in New York, NY. The position has a fixed weekly schedule of Friday and Saturday, 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM, and requires a six-month commitment to the assigned site and shift. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, potentially increasing their hours up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The pay rate is $18.48–$19.48 per hour. The officer provides customer service while carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies, conducts unarmed patrols, monitors access points and site activity, responds to incidents and concerns, and completes reports and logs. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local security licensing requirements; a license may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to customers, visitors, and team members while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of sales areas, entrances, receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting suspicious conditions, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Complete required reports, daily activity logs, and incident documentation accurately and on time.
