About The Position

The Security Officer is primarily responsible for the safety of patients, guests, and employees and the protection of property. The officer patrols assigned areas and remains alert for safety hazards, guest difficulties, accidents, disorderly persons, theft, assaultive behaviors, and other situations or conditions that may affect the organization’s overall security.

This is a full-time position with variable hours and variable days. Shift differentials are offered for work between 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., between 11:01 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., and during weekend hours. Employees must complete appropriate Taser training before being released to work any shifts; information about the training will be provided upon hire.

Requirements

• At least one year of security, law enforcement, military, or other related security experience; graduation from an approved law enforcement academy may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Valid temporary or permanent Unarmed or Armed Security Certification from the Department of Public Safety and Standards Training (DPSST) upon start.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of a safe driving record for the past 10 years, and proof of insurance upon start.
• Complete appropriate Taser training before being released to work any shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in Criminology, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
