About The Position

The Security Officer is primarily responsible for the safety of patients, guests, and employees, and the protection of property. The officer patrols assigned areas and watches for safety hazards, guest difficulties, accidents, disorderly persons, theft, assaultive behaviors, and other situations or conditions that may affect the organization’s overall security. Applicants are expected to float between Grants Pass, Ashland, and Medford to provide coverage as needed. Employees must complete appropriate taser training before being released to work shifts; training information will be provided upon hire.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security, law enforcement, military, or other related security experience; graduation from an approved law enforcement academy may be accepted in lieu of experience.
• Complete appropriate taser training before being released to work shifts.
• At start, hold a valid temporary or permanent unarmed or armed security certification from the Department of Public Safety and Standards Training (DPSST).
• At start, possess a valid driver’s license, proof of a safe driving record for the past 10 years, and proof of insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in Criminology, Psychology, or a related field.
