About The Position

The Security Officer is primarily responsible for the safety of patients, guests, and employees, and the protection of property. The officer patrols assigned areas and remains alert for safety hazards, guest difficulties, accidents, disorderly persons, theft, assaultive behaviors, and other situations or conditions that may affect the organization’s overall security. Applicants are expected to float between Grants Pass, Ashland, and Medford to provide coverage as needed.

Requirements

• At least one year of security, law enforcement, military, or other related security experience; graduation from an approved law enforcement academy may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Complete appropriate taser training before being released to work any shifts; training information will be provided upon hire.
• At the start of employment, hold a valid temporary or permanent unarmed or armed security certification from the Department of Public Safety and Standards Training (DPSST).
• At the start of employment, possess a valid driver’s license, proof of a safe driving record for the past 10 years, and proof of insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in Criminology, Psychology, or a related field.
