About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for patrol and inspection duties at an assigned site in Aberdeen, Maryland. The role provides fixed weekly anchor shifts with a six-month commitment, plus the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. The schedule can be scaled up to 40 hours per week or reduced as needed, subject to available shifts. Pay is $18.00 per hour. The officer provides customer service and performs security-related procedures, site-specific policies, patrols, access-control tasks, and incident documentation. The position may involve emergency response activities and requires applicants to meet age and education requirements and to undergo applicable background and drug screening.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.
Commit to the designated site and weekly anchor shift for six months.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store associates while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond calmly to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random foot or vehicle patrols throughout retail sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and the surrounding perimeter.
Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate store personnel and/or Allied Universal supervision.
Assist with access control and receipt verification where assigned.
Document incidents, observations, and daily activities.
