About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring an entry-level, unarmed patrol officer at a utilities location in Newport, Minnesota. The officer will safeguard the site by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible security presence, observing and reporting activity, and supporting daily operations. The role involves providing customer service and clear communication to clients, visitors, and personnel while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.

The position is full time and pays $25.01 per hour. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Duties take place across facility buildings, processing areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter, with working conditions that may vary throughout the location.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years old.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facility buildings, processing areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter.
• Monitor site access, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity according to site procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and complete required reports.
• Observe and report unusual activity, operational concerns, damaged property, and unauthorized access.
