About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time armed Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Vehicle Patrol Driver for an assigned utility location in Jacksonville, Florida. The position provides a designated weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. The employee may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, allowing hours to vary and potentially increase to as many as 40 per week, with the option to scale back. The listed pay rate is $18.70 per hour. The scheduled shift is Sunday, 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The officer provides customer service while carrying out security procedures, site policies, and emergency response activities. Duties include armed patrols, access control, responding to incidents and alarms, and completing reports. Employment is conditional on applicable background investigation and drug screening. The employee must participate in industry-specific security training, and licensing requirements may apply before employment.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• An armed guard card or license.
• A valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements; required for driving positions.
• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Must undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Must meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Commitment to the designated site and weekly anchor shift for six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and vendors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facility grounds, buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas and verify credentials and visitor authorization according to site-specific procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; document observations and notify appropriate personnel as required.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol documentation in accordance with company and site requirements.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
