About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer in Columbus, Ohio. The position provides reliable hours at an assigned site through a designated weekly anchor shift, with a six-month commitment to that assignment. Officers may also claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform, offering flexibility to increase or scale back hours. The opportunity can support a schedule of up to 40 hours per week.

The role involves providing customer service, conducting unarmed patrols, monitoring site access, responding to incidents, and reporting safety or security concerns. The listed pay rate is $17.98 per hour. The scheduled anchor shift is Monday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for an unarmed role.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, if required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and personnel by following security procedures and site-specific policies and carrying out emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of distribution facilities, loading areas, vehicle access points, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter; identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access by verifying credentials, directing authorized visitors and delivery personnel, and maintaining applicable entry and exit records.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, follow site procedures, and promptly report relevant details to appropriate personnel.
• Observe and report potential hazards, damaged property, access concerns, and other security-related issues while communicating professionally with onsite staff and transportation personnel.
