About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring an unarmed Security Officer for a part-time enhanced building patrol position in Syracuse, New York. The role provides a designated weekly shift at an assigned site, requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Additional shifts may be available across multiple sites, and hours can vary up to 40 per week. The listed schedule is Friday, 3:00 PM–8:00 PM. The pay rate is $17.68 per hour.

The officer provides customer service while carrying out security procedures and site policies, responds to incidents, patrols the business and its perimeter, monitors access points, reports concerns, and maintains activity records. Applicants must meet the stated age and education requirements and are subject to background investigation and drug screening as permitted by law.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any licensing requirements that apply under state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports and communicate observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
