About The Position

As a full-time Security Officer at a retail location in Janesville, Wisconsin, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing badge access, and assisting visitors and employees professionally. You will use computer or tablet systems to document activity, communicate clearly, and help deter security-related incidents through a visible, customer-focused presence. The scheduled shifts are Monday through Thursday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

The role serves and safeguards clients in retail and other settings. It includes customer service, access control, monitoring security systems and site areas, responding to incidents, and conducting patrols. Work environments and conditions may vary by location.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to store associates, vendors, delivery personnel, and visitors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Control access by verifying credentials, monitoring entry and exit points, documenting visitor and contractor activity, and communicating access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Monitor access control systems, doors, gates, and receiving areas to help deter unauthorized entry and support orderly operations.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, follow established site procedures, and report relevant details.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the store, stockroom, loading areas, parking lot, and perimeter.
