About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Somerset, New Jersey, at a technology-focused location. The officer will manage facility entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a welcoming, controlled environment for employees and visitors. The role involves customer service, access control, recordkeeping, patrols, and responding to security-related incidents in accordance with site procedures. The stated pay rate is $17.00 per hour. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, subject to applicable law.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements applicable under state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors while carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Monitor and control facility access through visitor check-in, credential verification, badge issuance, and documentation of authorized entry and exit activity.
Respond calmly to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
Maintain accurate access logs, visitor records, key and credential inventories, and incident reports while protecting confidential information.
Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, restricted areas, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
