About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time armed Security Officer Enhanced for perimeter patrol in Syracuse, New York. The position provides a designated site and fixed weekly anchor shift, with a required six-month commitment. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform, allowing them to increase their hours and potentially build toward a schedule of up to 40 hours per week. The listed shift is Thursday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM. Pay is $30.00 per hour.

The role provides security and customer service at an assigned site, including armed patrols, monitoring access points and activity, responding to incidents, and documenting security-related work. Employment is subject to a background investigation and drug screening as permitted by law. Employees must participate in industry-specific security training.

Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to customers, employees, and visitors by following security procedures and site-specific policies and undertaking emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, contacting law enforcement or emergency personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of retail sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity for suspicious behavior, policy violations, or potential security concerns; report observations according to site procedures.
• Maintain required reports and documentation for incidents, patrols, and other security activities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Allied Universal procedures.
