About The Position

As a Security Officer in Otay Mesa, California, you will help safeguard clients and maintain a welcoming, professional environment. Duties include monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, documenting visitor activity, responding to security-related concerns, and using computer or tablet systems to support access procedures. The role also involves providing customer service and communicating clearly with employees and visitors. This is a full-time position with a daytime schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The pay rate is $18.75 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Monitor and control access by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor records, and directing authorized personnel and deliveries according to site procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, documenting observations and reporting suspicious activity or access-control concerns.
Assist with access-control logs, key and badge procedures, and other assigned security-related administrative tasks.
