About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to perform entry screening at a correctional facility in Okeechobee, Florida. The officer will screen individuals and belongings, monitor access points, document activity, and communicate professionally with staff and visitors. A visible presence will help deter incidents and support an orderly environment. The role is scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and pays $21.75 per hour.

Requirements

At least 2 years of security-related experience.
Be at least 21 years of age.
A guard card is required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Screen individuals entering the location in accordance with established access-control procedures and site requirements.
Observe and report unusual activity, prohibited items, and potential policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Maintain accurate screening logs, visitor records, and incident documentation as required by site procedures.
